Water weighs ten pounds per gallon. One hundred gallons weighs half a ton. This hull holds more than a hundred gallons. An accident that happens to fill a hull with water weighs more than what any person or group of people can easily handle and requires a bailer and transom drain. Adding a transom drain to any boat is a necessity.
I placed the transom drain near the centre support. Marking and drilling was easy. Enlarging was easy as well in the aluminum using a die grinder in my drill.
…and an addition of a rubber washer makers it watertight…
For a few dollars for the brass fitting and two dollars for the plug it was an easy, convenient, and needed addition.
